The new E2

I have a question about the E2 and was hoping you could answer it for me? If I have the Cricut Expression (the original) and is thinking about buying the Imagine or the E2 why would I purchase the E2? I know the E2 is designed for the imagine cartridges but what would it do with those cartridges? Thank you for your help in allowing me to make an informed decision about which machine to add to craftroom.
